Michael W. Twitty
Two-time James Beard award-winning author, Michael W. Twitty is a powerhouse of culinary history. He specializes in African/Southern foods as well as the intersection of Jewish and Black foods. He is available for in-person and virtual talks on a variety of food and historical topics related to how and why we eat. As Michael says, “Food is my flag.” His entertaining encyclopedic understanding of food, identity, intersectionality, and chutpah continues to wow and delight audiences.
Alan Bergo
Alan Bergo is a 2022 James Beard award winner and author. Best known for his remarkable foraging skills and deep understanding of plant flavors, Alan is available to talk with audiences (from gardeners to food industry titans) about the power of unique plants that we often assume are weeds to be hacked down. His brilliance may only be surpassed by his delicious cooking!
Meherwan Irani
Chef and entrepreneur Meherwan Irani’s flagship restaurant, Chai Pani, won the 2022 James Beard Award for outstanding restaurant – not an easy feat! His love of Indian street food and ability to create accessible flavors that dance on the palate are just some of his incredible skills. Founder of his own spice line, Spicewalla, Meherwan’s flavors can be found in products around the US. His various talks will have those in the food and beverage industry rethinking how they consider business and partnering with their staff. He is not only a superb chef, but a personality that will inspire and motivate any team!
Vimala Rajendran
Vimala is a woman who lives by her values – and love is certainly one of the reasons that her food repeatedly wins Best of the Triangle (Chapel Hill/Raleigh/Durham, NC). Her in person or virtual talk covers the power of ethical business practices and how they deeply serve communities – from customers to farmers to staff. Food & Wine magazine named her restaurant one of the top 19 places to work. Besides keynote talks, Chef Vimala is also available to cook with culinary students or those interested in fun and tasty team building events.
Ashley English
This eleven time cookbook author is a heartfelt and sincere powerhouse! Ashley English embodies all that is good about making homemade food – from her divine pies to her wisdom on chickens/hens – Ashley can talk food and love all day long. Her talks on writing cookbooks and thinking through food as part of identity and storytelling are action oriented and unique. You’ll learn more in one session with Ashley than you may have covered in culinary school or college – her cup is overflowing with culinary wisdom.
